You weren't sent home

with a recovery plan.

Here’s the one you deserved

Most women leave hospital with a baby, a six-week check booked, and almost nothing else. No guidance on what's happening in their body, what's normal, or how to start healing. This guide changes that - written by a certified postnatal specialist and mum of two, for every type of birth.

Nobody tells you what really happens after birth. The leaking, the disconnect, the body that feels completely foreign. You're not broken - you're just missing the support you should have been given from day one. That's what we're here for.

Up to 100% of women have some degree of diastatis
50% of women experience a degree of prolapse
1 in 3 women experience pelvic floor dysfunction

Stronger after Birth — postnatal recovery guide
$39.00

Everything you need to understand your post-birth body and start recovering with confidence — whether you had a vaginal birth or a c-section, whether it's been 6 weeks or 6 years.

A complete postnatal recovery system - for every birth

This isn't a generic exercise PDF. It's a full, evidence-based recovery framework covering your body, mind, and habits — adapted throughout for both vaginal and c-section births.

What you should have been told after having a baby

  1. If your stomach still looks pregnant, it's likely ab separation — and it can be healed with the right approach.

  2. Leaking when you laugh, sneeze or move is not normal. It's not something you just have to live with. Pelvic floor rehab can significantly reduce or eliminate it

  3. Back pain and an achy body aren't just "mum life now." Core rehab with targeted mobility work can tackle this.

  4. Pressure or bulging "down there" is often a sign of prolapse — and recovery is possible.

  5. Feeling disconnected from your body is real. Your core and pelvic floor need to be retrained after birth. You can get that connection back.

  • "I had no idea leaking wasn't just something I had to accept. A few weeks in and I'm already noticing a huge difference. I wish I'd found this sooner."

    - Rebecca, mum of 1

  • "The breathing technique alone changed everything. My back pain has gone, I've stopped leaking, and I finally feel connected to my body again."

    Sally, Mum of 2

  • "After my c-section I felt completely lost. This is the recovery plan I should have been given at the hospital. Thank you"

    - Mum of 1

Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Mel

Postnatal specialist, Mum and Women health advocate

Level 4 NZIHF, Burell Education pregnancy and postnatal qualified, Myofascial release practitioner (C-section release qualifications underway)

After having my first child, I was left feeling isolated, not feeling like I had any control of my body and complete uncertainty in how or if I may feel like myself again. Having a strong background in training I dug into research and built out a program that I used to support myself in my recovery journey.

I wanted to support as many women as possible to not feel like I did post birth. I have first hand experience and hear regularly from me mums that they walk into gyms and clinics and walk out without the support they actually needed. It is not these professionals fault, it is a breakdown in the system and a lack of education. That why Stronger after Birth was created. Let’s change things for the better.

These resources are evidence-based, practically designed, and built to be used by the professionals who are already in these women's lives.

Things you might want to ask

Is this guide right for both vaginal and c-section births?

1

Yes — the guide is written for all birth types. It covers the full postnatal recovery framework and is adapted throughout to address the specific needs of both vaginal and c-section births, including dedicated sections on scar healing, the 360-degree breath to mobilise c-section scars, and perineal recovery for vaginal births.

How soon after birth can I use it?

2

You can start reading from day one — understanding your body doesn't require any physical readiness. The breathing, mindset, and nutrition sections are safe to begin immediately. The movement sections are designed to be started when you feel ready, typically from around 6 weeks or once you've been cleared by your midwife or doctor.

It's been months (or years) since I gave birth - is it too late?

3

Absolutely not. Pelvic floor rehab and core reconnection are valuable at any stage of motherhood. Whether you gave birth 6 weeks ago or 6 years ago, your body can still benefit enormously from this work.

Do I need any equipment?

4

No. The core workout in the guide is completely bodyweight — no equipment needed. Everything is designed to be done at home, whenever it works for you.
